HOW LONG DOES THE PERMIT LAST?

Basically there are 3 main periods concerning the actual residency. These include:

1. The Initial Visa

2. 2-Year Residency Permit.

3. 5-Year Residency Continuation.

General Requirements:

The general requirements for the Permit include;

• Not being in Bulgaria under any irregular or illegal circumstances.
• 18 Years of age.
• Clean criminal record in Bulgaria.
• Clean criminal record in the countries where the applicant has resided for the past five years.
• Offenses defined in the relevant Bulgarian legislation should not have been broken.
• Not be subject to an alert issued for the purposes of being refused entry in the geographical boundaries of countries with which Bulgaria has legal contracts.
• The applicant is required to possess a public or private health insurance policy with an insurance company authorised to carry on its operations in Bulgaria.
• Have ample monetary resources for themselves and their families during their initial stay in Bulgaria.
• The applicant must pay the visa or authorization processing fee.

The spouse or partner and children under legal  age or those of legal age who cannot provide by themselves and have not formed their own family and parents who are dependent, who might join the foreigner, may apply successively for their authorization and/or visa.
